Engaged
Last night, after a Groupon-induced dinner at Spring and a walk to our favorite secret park in the Loop, I asked Allie to marry me. She knew it was coming—just a week earlier we were in Michigan looking at settings for the stone from my Grandmother’s engagement ring (circa 1948) and she knew that I wasn’t coming back to Chicago empty-handed.
Nevertheless, I asked and she accepted and we sat alone in the park that we first discovered together two years ago when we were still living in different cities. The past two and half years have been incredible and I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of them with anyone else.
Exciting times are ahead…

AWww, very darn cute. Funny thing — I know where that exact spot is! One week ago I was talking to Allie about this mysterious hidden gem tucked behind huge high rises. Everyone passing by looks up, but the real secret is looking down… towards a now romantic anniversary spot for you two! Again, Congrats!
